  • Meaning
    a. a bicycle with seats and pedals for two riders, one behind the other. (Noun)
    b. with two or more horses harnessed one behind another. (Adverb)
    c. having two things arranged one in front of the other. (Adjective)
  • Synonyms: team, pair, cooperation, series
  • Antonyms: single, alone
  • Usage in a sentence: The team has a tandem of talented guards.

3. Word: Cliché (पिष्टोक्ति)

  • Pronunciation: klee-shey/ क्लीशे
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning: a phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought.
  • Synonyms: platitude, banality
  • Antonyms: neologism
  • Usage in a sentence: A poignant but erroneous cliché has made its way into journalism over the past few years.

4.  Word: Lethal (घातक)

  • Pronunciation: lee-thuhl/ लीथल
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning
    a. of, relating to, or causing death; deadly; fatal:
    b. made or carried out to cause death:
    c. causing great harm or destruction:
  • Synonyms: deadly, fatal, mortal
  • Antonyms: harmless, safe, beneficial 
  • Usage in a sentence: The disclosures were lethal to his candidacy.

5. WordPartisan (पक्षपाती)

  • Pronunciation: pahr-tuh-zuhn
  • Part of Speech: Noun, Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. a strong supporter of a party, cause, or person. [Noun]
    b. prejudiced in favour of a particular cause. [Adjective]
  • Synonyms: supporter, biased, prejudiced
  • Antonyms: opponent, unbiased
  • Usage in a Sentence: You must listen to both points of view and try not to be partisan.

6. Temperament (स्वभाव)  -

  • Pronunciation: compre-hen-sive
  • Part of Speech:: Noun
  • Meaning
    a.  the nature or personality of an animal or individual
  • Synonyms -  disposition, nature, character, personality
  • Antonyms -  indisposition ,inability
  • Usage in a sentence - While the twins are identical physically, they differ in temperament with one being extrovert and the other shy. 

7. Word: Elude (दृष्टि बचाकर चला जाना)

  • Pronunciation: ih-lood/ इलूड
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: escape from or avoid (a danger, enemy, or pursuer), typically in a skilful or cunning way.
  • Synonyms: evade, avoid, escape
  • Antonyms: confront, encounter
  • Usage in a sentence: The two men managed to elude the police for six weeks.

8. Word: Potent (प्रभावकारी)

  • Pronunciation: poht-nt/पोटन्ट
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning: 
    a. having great power, influence, or effect.
  • Synonyms: powerful, influential
  • Antonyms: weak, incapable
  • Use in a Sentence: The medicine had a potent effect on your disease.

9. Word: Hail (सलाम करना)

  • Pronunciation: heyl/हेल
  • Part of Speech: Verb, Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. to cheer, salute (Verb)
    b. to approve enthusiastically (Verb)
    c. to call out in greet (Verb)
    d. a shout or call to attract attention (Noun)
    e. small, hard balls of ice that fall from the sky like rain (Noun)
  • Synonyms: welcome, salute, greet, acclaim
  • Antonyms: ignore, discourage, reject
  • Usage in a sentence: I tried to hail her from across the room.

10. Word: Strive (यास करना)

  • Pronunciation: strahyv/ स्ट्राइव

  • Meaning
    a. make great efforts to achieve or obtain something.
    b. struggle or fight vigorously.
  • Synonyms: struggle, fight, wrestle, toil
  • Antonyms: relax, abandon, rest
