    a. grass and the surface layer of earth held together by its roots. (Noun)
    b. cover (a patch of ground) with turf. (Verb)
  • Synonyms: field, area, grass, terrain, lawn

5. Word: Validity (मान्यता तारीख, पुष्टता)

  • Pronunciation: vuh-lid-i-tee/ वलिडिटी
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning
    a. the quality of being logically or factually sound; soundness or cogency.
    b. the state of being legally or officially binding or acceptable.
  • Synonyms: effectiveness, efficacy, legitimacy, authenticity, effectivity
  • Antonyms: falsity, invalidity, falsehood, absurdity
  • Usage in a sentence: Some researchers have questioned the validity of the test results.

6. Word: Pursuit (अनुसरण, कोशिश)

  • Pronunciation: per-soot/ पर्सूट
  • Part of Speech: Noun
  • Meaning:
    a. the action of pursuing someone or something.
    b. an activity of a specified kind, especially a recreational or sporting one.
  • Synonyms: work, enterprise, mission, seeking
  • Antonyms: retreat, surrender, detest

 7. Word: Cohesive (जोड़नेवाला)

  • Pronunciation: koh-hee-siv/कोहीसिव
  • Part of Speech: Adjective 
  • Meaning: closely united; well integrated
  • Synonyms: united, integrated, cooperated
  • Antonyms: fragmented, disjointed, isolated, divided
  • Use in Sentence: After six weeks of training together, our group bonded and became quite cohesive.

8. Word: Galvanise (प्रेरित करना)

  • Pronunciation: gal-vuh-nahyz/ गैल्वनाइज़
  • Part of Speech: Verb
  • Meaning: shock or excite (someone) into taking action.
  • Synonyms: stimulate, excite, energize, encourage
  • Antonyms: discourage, deter, dissuade
  • Usage in a sentence: He decided to talk loudly and galvanise the team into action.

9. Word: Hegemon (महाशक्ति)

  • Pronunciation: hej-uh-mon/हेजुमों
  • Part of Speech
  • Meaning:
    a. a leader, country, or group that is very strong and powerful and therefore able to control others
  • Synonyms: dominance, supremacy
  • Antonyms: inferior, submissiveness
  • Usage in a sentence: Could the United States lose out to another global hegemon, China?

10. Word: Evasive (टालने वाला/कपटी)

  • Pronunciation: ih-vey-siv/इवेसिव
  • Part of Speech: Adjective
  • Meaning:
    a. answering questions in a way that is not direct or clear, especially because you do not want to give an honest answer
    b. done to avoid something bad happening
  • Synonyms: shifty, elusive, equivocal
  • Antonyms: direct, honest, candid
  • Usage in a sentence: Drivers had to make sudden evasive maneuvers.
