Pooja Patel from Gujarat has become the first athlete to win gold in Yogasana at the 36th National Games
Yogasana: It is one of the five sports to be played at National Games 2022 for the 1st time
Indian indigenous sport, Yoga made its debut at the Khelo India University Games earlier this year.
Apart from this, Maharashtra won gold in women’s diving 1-meter springboard event
36th National Games will be held in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar

Banking & Finance

RBI has released a Concept Note on Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) to create awareness about Digital Rupee.
This note explains the objectives, choices, benefits, and risks of issuing a digital currency in India.
It also discusses issues like technology and design choices, possible uses of the Digital Rupee, issuance mechanisms, and role of RBI in introduction of the CBDT.
RBI will soon commence the launch of Digital Rupee on a pilot basis for specific use.

Important Dates

Indian Air Force Day is observed every year on 8th October.
Indian Air Force (IAF) was officially established on 8th October 1932, as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire which honoured India's aviation service during World War II with the prefix Royal.
First aircraft of IAF came into being on 1st April 1933 with six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys (air soldiers).
IAF is celebrating the 90th foundation day in 2022.

Agreement

Centre has constituted a 9-member task force for monitoring Cheetah introduction in Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh and other suitable designated areas.
National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) will facilitate the working of Cheetah Task Force and render all necessary help.
The task force will include Principal Secretaries, Forests and Tourism of Madhya Pradesh, and Inspector General of NTCA, New Delhi Amit Mallick.
Tenure: 2 years.

Honours & Awards

Belarusian human rights advocate Ales Bialiatski, Russian human rights organization ‘Memorial’, and Ukrainian human rights organization 'Centre for Civil Liberties' have been jointly awarded 2022 Nobel Peace Prize.
This award was announced by the Norwegian Nobel Committee for promoting the right to criticize power and protecting the fundamental rights of citizens.
Apart from this, Chemistry, Physics, Physiology or Medicine and Literature has also been announced

Hero MotoCorp has wraped off their new electric scooter under the sub-brand, titled as ‘Vida’.
Hero Vida V1 is the first electric scooter of the brand, as it looks to catch up with newer firms who have taken the lead in the country's clean mobility push.
It was first launched at a starting price of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom) at Jaipur Centre and would be launched in New Delhi, and Bangalore.
It is available in two variants named Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro.

Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under Ministry of Commerce has notified the establishment of Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups (CGSS)
It will provide credit guarantees to loans extended by Scheduled Commercial Banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies and Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) registered Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs).
Credit guarantees cover under the Scheme would be transaction based and umbrella based.

Union Minister for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh has inaugurated Science Museum at Chamba in Himachal Pradesh
It is termed as ‘DBT-NIPGR-Pandit Jaiwant Ram Upmanyu Science Museum’
This state-of-art institution will inspire young children to discover their potentials and use their innovative skills to find a source of livelihood in later life.
It is set up by the National Institute of Plant Genome Research at Government Boys Senior Secondary School (GBSSS)
