1. Andhra Pradesh tops in state’s ease of doing business rankings
- Andhra Pradesh has bagged top position in the 4th edition of the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) ranking of states for 2018-19.
- BRAP is also known as Ease of Doing Business rankings.
- Ranking was announced by Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs.
- UP is ranked second, followed by Telangana
- The ranking is done by Department of Industrial Promotion and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

2. Kenichi Ayukawa elected as President of SIAM
- Kenichi Ayukawa has been elected as the President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for a term of two years.
- He is presently serving as the MD and CEO of Maruti Suzuki.
- He will succeed Rajan Wadhera.
- Along, with his, SIAM has been elected Vipin Sondhi (MD-CEO of Ashok Leyland) as its vice-President
- SIAM is the apex body of the Indian automotive industry.

3. Rajiv Lall steps down from IDFC First Bank’s board members
- Rajiv B. Lall has resigned from the post of Non-Executive Chairman of IDFC First Bank due to prolonged personal health issues
- He was the founder MD and CEO of the IDFC Bank, which was merged with Capital first in December 2018.
- IDFC Bank is first Indian bank to launch Aadhaar-linked cashless merchant solution
- Amitabh Bachchan is the first ever brand ambassador of IDFC first Bank

4. Producer-Director Johnny Bakshi passes away
- Veteran Producer-Director Johnny Bakshi (82 years) passed away due to cardiac arrest in Mumbai.
- He is known for several films like Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain (1974), Vishwasghaat (1977), Raavan (1984), Mera Dost Mera Dushman (1984), Bhairavi (1996) Kajraare (2010), and Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee (1993)
- He directed films like Daku Aur Police (1992) and 1994 movie Khudai.
- He also acted in Haar Jeet (1990) and Papa Kehte Hai (1996).

5. Pope Francis penned down new book named ‘Let Us Dream’
- Head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has penned a new book titled as ‘Let Us Dream’.
- The book depicts lessons to take from Covid-19 crisis, about how to handle upheaval of any kind in life and the world at large and how it can be made a safer, fairer, and a healthier place for people to live in.
- The book will hit the stands by December 2020 and will be available I English as well as Spanish
- It is published by Simon & Schuster.

7. Donald Trump announced Wilmington as 1st World War II Heritage City
- Donald Trump (President of the USA) has announced Wilmington as the first World War II Heritage City.
- Wilmington is in southern US state of North Carolina.
- This announcement was made at the ceremony held marking 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.
- During the war, Wilmington was the site of North Carolina Shipbuilding Company, which built 243 ships in five years as part of the federal government’s emergency shipbuilding program.

8. RBL Bank launches cardless cash withdrawal facility through ATMs
- RBL Bank has tied-up with Empays Payment Systems in order to launch a cardless cash withdrawal facility from ATMs by leveraging the Instant Money Transfer (IMT) system.
- RBL Bank’s MoBank app can be used by customers for this IMT function either using mobile number linked to the account or by following a few easy steps on the app.

9. Kesavananda Bharati passes away
- Head of Edneer Mutt at Kasaragod in Kerala, Pujya Kesavananda Bharati (79 years) passed away
- He is known for filing property rights case in the Supreme Court in 1973 that helped in defining basic rights under the Constitution.
- He had filed a case challenging Constitution (29th Amendment) Act, 1972, questioning the Kerala government’s move to take over the mutt property
- Although he lost the case but it led to the adoption of ‘Basic Structure Doctrine’ of the Constitution.

10. Assam Govt re-launches SVAYEM to provide self-employment
- Assam government has re-launched Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment (SVAYEM) scheme to provide self-employment to around 2 lakh youths who are a part of any self-help groups or joint liability groups
- Under this, Rs 50 thousand as seed money will be provided to selected youths to start business ventures.
- The scheme has a total outlay of Rs. 1000 crore which will be spent in the next three months without any banking linkage.
