1. PV Sindhu wins Swiss Open Women's Singles title
- PV Sindhu defeated Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungpha to win the Swiss Women’s Singles title.
- This is her second women’s singles title of the season. She had won her first title of 2022 in the Syed Modi International Super 300 in Lucknow.
- This is Sindhu’s 16th win over Busanan in 17 events.
- She is the first and only Indian to win the Badminton World Champion

2. Ola acquires neo bank Avail Finance
- Mobility firm Ola has signed an agreement to acquire neo bank Avail Finance.
- This acquisition provides financial services to working class.
- The acquisition will strengthen the Ola in the fintech space.
- The financial terms and conditions of the agreement were not disclosed by Ola.
- Ola owns a 9% share in Avail Finance.
- Ola invested nearly Rs 800 crores into its financial services business.
- Avail Finance was founded in 2016 by Tushar Mehndiratta and Ankush Aggarwal.

3. 6 months extension of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana
- The Centre has extended Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) from April to September 2022.
- In 6th phase, each beneficiary will get an additional five kilos of free ration per person every month to the normal quota of food grain.
- The scheme was implemented on 26th March2020.
- The program comes under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.

4. Reserve Bank Innovation Hub opens in Bengaluru
- RBI governor Shaktikanta Das inaugurated the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) in Bengaluru.
- The RBI has set up the RBIH as a Section 8 under Companies Act, 2013.
- RBIH is a wholly owned subsidiary of RBI with an initial capital contribution of ₹100 crore.
- This will encourage and nurture financial innovation in a sustainable manner through an institutional set-up.

5. Indian team clinched SAFF U-18 Women's Championship title
- Indian team managed to win the South Asian Football Federation U-18 Women's Football Championship title 2022 held at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.
- India lost to Bangladesh by 0-1 but still emerged as champions of the tournament.
- The highest goal scorer of the tournament was Lynda Kom(Manipur), she scored five goals in the tournament.
- The championship was held for the first time in Nepal in August 2015.

6. 5th BIMSTEC Summit hosted by Sri Lanka
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the 5th BIMSTEC Summit on 30 March 2022.
- The Summit Meeting will be hosted by Sri Lanka via virtually, the current BIMSTEC chair.
- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also visit Sri Lanka from March 28 to March 30 where he will attend the meeting of the BIMSTEC Foreign Ministers.
- The BIMSTEC is a group of Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal, India, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.

7. Western naval command conducts offshore security exercise Prasthan
- ‘Prasthan’ was conducted in Mumbai on 23 March 2022.
- The exercise is conducted in every six months to ensure offshore security which aims to integrate efforts of all maritime stakeholders involved in offshore defence.
- This exercise led by the Indian Navy, the exercise is also participated by from the Indian Air Force, Coast Guard, ONGC, Mumbai Port Trust, JLN Port Trust, Customs, State Fisheries Department, Mercantile Marine Department, and the Marine Police.

8. PVR and INOX announced merger
- INOX Leisure Ltd and PVR Ltd announced merger.
- Inox have a 16.66 per cent stake in the new firm and PVR will have 10.62 per cent stake.
- After the formalities of merger, the company will be known as PVR Inox Limited.
- Ajay Bijli will be MD of PVR Inox Limited, Sanjeev Kumar will be executive director and Pavan Kumar Jain will be non-executive chairman of the consolidated board.
- The merger is subject to approval by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)

9. Bangladesh observes Independence Day
- On 26th March 2022, Bangladesh celebrated 52nd Independence Day.
- President M Abdul Hamid and PM Sheikh Hasina paid their tributes to the martyrs of the liberation war at the National War Memorial in Dhaka.
- On 26 March 1971, Bangladesh was announced as an independent nation by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
- Recently, according to the study conducted by International Finance Corporation (IFC, Bangladesh tops the list in South Asia in terms of women on board of listed companies.

10. Nepal PM Sher Bahadur Deuba to visit India from Apr 1
- Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will be on three-days visit to India from April 1.
- The aim this visit is to strengthen bilateral ties.
- Deuba will hold talks with PM Narendra Modi on April 2.
- He is also scheduled to visit Varanasi.
- The visit will take place after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi concludes his three-day Nepal visit on March 27.
