1. Debashis Mitra appointed as President of ICAI for 2022-23

  • Debashis Mitra has been appointed as the President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the year 2022-23.
  • Prior to this, he was serving as the Vice-President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for 2021-22.
  • After being part of Central Council for 2016-19, he is serving his 2nd consecutive term for 2019-22.
  • Apart from him, ICAI appointed Aniket Sunil Talati as Vice President.
  • ICAI was established in 1949 as a statutory body

2. IAF to display Light Combat Aircraft Tejas at Singapore Air Show 2022

  • Indian Air Force will showcase Tejas light combat aircraft (LCA) at the four-day Singapore Air Show 2022.

  • Singapore Air Show:

3. NABARD launches JIVA Programme for promoting natural farming

  • National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has launched ‘JIVA’ programme to promote natural farming, apart from ensuring sustainability and rejuvenate ‘life’ around agricultural field.
  • Under this, NABARD will invest Rs 50,000 per hectare.
  • It will be implemented on the existing completed (or near completed) projects of watersheds and wadis programme in around 11 states covering 5 agroecological zones, which are in ecologically fragile and rain-fed areas.
