Daily Editorial Analysis from Newspaper: 28th July 2021

By Aditi Joshi|Updated : July 28th, 2021

We are pleased to launch a new initiative i.e. Daily Editorial Analysis from Newspaper for CAT and other MBA Entrance Exams. As Reading comprehensions are an important part of the English section for all the MBA Entrance Exams, it is imperative to have strong reading and comprehension skills.

So here, we will be providing some interesting articles along with their summaries. This will help you in understanding the articles in a better way.

Aim of the daily reading exercise

  • The aim of this exercise is to develop your Grammar, Vocabulary, and learn the contextual usage of various words

  • Along with these, the exercise also develops your stamina and comprehension ability.

  • Regular reading helps you subconsciously, in developing the instinct to pick out the grammatically and contextually correct sentences, from the other close options.

This free series is meant to bolster your reading skills, while also brushing up your vocabulary and general awareness as well. The motive behind this series is to get the aspirants accustomed to reading so that they don't face reading blues in the exams.

The first article, titled "Crisis in Tunis: On Tunisian President’s decision to suspend Parliament" is published in The Hindu. It takes into account the suspension of the Tunisian parliament and the subsequent power grab by the Tunisian president as the author explores various aspects related to the issue.

On the other hand, the second article titled "Tap it for India: Puri’s tap water is safe to drink. When will the rest of the country get there?" is published in The Times of India. It talks about the Puri's achieving the status of being the only city with safe tap water for drinking as the author wonders when will the rest of India get to this milestone.

Now, your job is to read the articles first and then move on to the summaries for a better understanding of the context. Also, please tell us about your thoughts in the comment section down below.

Until then, happy reading!
