2. NITI Aayog releases Fourth Edition of State Health Index
- NITI Aayog has released the fourth edition of the State Health Index for 2019–20 that provides incremental performance in health outcomes and status.
- Developed by: NITI Aayog, World Bank, and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
- Top Larger State: Kerala and Tamil Nadu; Lowest Larger State: UP.
- Top Smaller State: Mizoram; Lowest ranked smaller state: Nagaland.
- Top UT: Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

3. Harbajan Singh announces retirement from all forms of cricket
- Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh (41 years) has announced retirement from all forms of competitive cricket.
- He made his Test debut against Australia in Bangalore back in 1998 and took a total of 417 wickets in 103 Tests.
- He also took 269 wickets in 236 One Day International and 25 wickets in 28 T20 internationals during his two-decades-long career.
- He is the fourth-highest wicket-taker from India
- He played 163 IPL matches and took 150 wickets

4. Dinanath Dubhashi appointed as Additional Director of FIDC
- MD and CEO, L&T Finance Holdings, Dinanath Dubhashi have been appointed as an Additional Director of Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC).
- This move has been taken as Sanjay Chamria has resigned as the Co-Chairman and Director, FIDC.
- Apart from him, Kamlesh Gandhi has been appointed as Co-Chairman of FIDC in addition to Umesh Revankar.
- FIDC is a representative body of asset and loan financing NBFCs, has announced fresh appointments to its board of directors.

5. Viral Desai won Global Environment and Climate Action Citizen Award
- Surat's noted industrialist Viral Desai has been awarded the prestigious Global Environment and Climate Action Citizen Award in Dubai
- He is popularly known as Greenman for his love for the environment
- Twenty-eight prominent personalities from 11 countries, including the UK, US, New Zealand, France, and Malaysia, were felicitated with the prestigious awards on the occasion
- Some of the other awardees include motivational speaker Padma Gaur Gopaldas and others.

6. JSW Group launches employee-friendly electric vehicle policy
- JSW Group launches JSW Group’s new EV Policy to increase adoption of EVs in India and enable access to green mobility
- It will facilitate up to Rs 3 lakhs as an incentive for its employees to purchase electric four- and two-wheelers, seeking to help India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Sustainable Development Scenarios (SDS) of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
- It will be effective from January 2022.

7. Bangladesh become India's fourth-largest export destination in FY22
- Bangladesh has become India’s fourth-largest export destination in FY22, jumping five places in two years.
- According to data, during the first seven months of FY22, exports to Bangladesh grew 81% over the same period in the preceding year to $7.7 billion.
- This makes it India’s fourth-largest export market behind the US, UAE, and China.
- Major items exported to Bangladesh: cotton, cereals, electricity and fuel, vehicle parts and machinery, and mechanical appliances.

8. NASA launches world’s most powerful space telescope
- World’s largest and most powerful space telescope, James Webb Space Telescope has been launched successfully into orbit to make breakthrough discoveries on the origins of the Universe and Earth-like planets beyond our solar system.
- It has been launched in an Ariane rocket from European Space Agency's base in French Guiana.
- It will reach its destination in solar orbit some 1.5 million km from Earth - about four times farther away than the moon.

9. Anukrti Upadhyay's Kintsugi wins the Sushila Devi Award 2021
- Anukrti Upadhyay has won Sushila Devi Award 2021 for the Best Book of Fiction for her critically acclaimed novel ‘Kintsugi’ which was published under the Fourth Estate imprint.
- It has been instituted by Ratanlal Foundation.
- It was announced by Ratanlal Foundation and organizing Committee of the Bhopal Literature and Art Festival
- Previous winners have been Namita Gokhale (Things To Leave Behind), Shubhangi Swarup (Latitudes of Longing), and Avni Doshi (Girl in White Cotton)

10. Ministry of Power launches Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS)
- Ministry of Power has launched a Reforms-based and Results-linked, Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
- Aim: To improve the operational efficiencies and financial sustainability of State-owned DISCOMs/ Power Departments by providing financial assistance to DISCOMs for modernization
- Outlay: Rs.3,03,758 crore
- Key interventions: providing support to DISCOMs to undertake activities for ensuring 100% System metering, implementing Prepaid Smart Metering, etc

- Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has attended the first-ever ‘Real Estate Summit 2021’ at Convention Centre, Jammu.
- It is organized by the Department of Housing & Urban Development Department, Govt of Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs

13. India to chair counter-terrorism committee of UNSC in Jan 2022
- India will chair the Counter-Terrorism Committee of UNSC in January 2022 after 10 years.
- It was established by Security Council resolution 1373 adopted unanimously on 28 September 2001 in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks in the US.
- Committee was tasked to implement several measures aimed at enhancing their legal and institutional ability to counter terrorist activities at home and around the world
- This includes taking steps to criminalize the financing of terrorism

14. INS Sudarshini deployed to the Gulf Region
- Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini deployed to the Gulf as part of the Indian Navy’s endeavor to enhance maritime cooperation with the friendly navies in the Gulf region.
- During the deployment, the ship made port calls at Muscat, Dubai, and Bandar Abbas and had professional interactions with Royal Oman Navy (RNO), UAE Navy, and Iran (IRI) Navy
- It undertook various training exchanges, wherein sail training was imparted to trainees from RNO and IRI Navy and sea sorties conducted.
