  • Prior to this, he was serving as the President for ratings and as Chief Rating Officer at ICRA.

  • He replaced N Sivaraman, who resigned with immediate effect due to personal reasons.
  • Gurgaon-based ICRA is a unit owned by global rating agency Moody’s Corporation.

4. PM Modi launches ‘Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission’

  • PM Narendra Modi has launched ‘Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (ABHIM)’ from his parliamentary constituency Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh
  • Total outlay: Rs 5,000 crore
  • Aim: to address gaps in public health infrastructure with focus on critical care facilities and primary care in urban and rural areas.
  • Under this, 17,788 rural health and wellness centres in 10 high focus states will get support
  • 11,024 urban health and wellness centres will be established.

5. South Korea flight tests first homegrown space rocket “Nuri”

  • South Korea has recently launched its first indigenously developed rocket, titled as ‘Korean Satellite Launch Vehicle II’ or ‘Nuri’.
  • The launch vehicle lifted off from Naro Space Center, in Goheung, built on an island nearly 300 miles (500 kilometers) south of Seoul.
  • Nuri rocket is 47.2 metres long and weighs 200 tones. 
  • It is a three-stage rocket and is fitted with 6 liquid-fuelled engines.
  • It has been built at an estimated cost of 2 trillion won (£1.23bn or $1.6bn)

6. Chhattisgarh launches ‘Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store’ scheme

  • Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has launched ‘Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store’ scheme to provide medicines at low and affordable rates to consumers.
  • Under this scheme, generic medicines will be 50 to 71% cheaper at these medical stores.
  • It will be run by Urban Administration and Development Department.
  • It is proposed to set up 188 medical stores in 169 urban bodies of the state.
  • These medical stores will sell 251 types of generic medicines and 27 surgical products.

7. DRDO successfully tested High-Speed Expendable Aerial Target ‘ABHYAS’

  • Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully flight-tested the High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) titled ‘ABHYAS’, from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the coast of Bay of Bengal in Odisha.
  • ABHYAS is designed & developed by DRDO lab, Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bengaluru, for the Indian Armed Forces.
  • It can be used as an aerial target for the evaluation of various missile systems.

8. RBI introduces Scale Based Regulation (SBR) for NBFCs

  • RBI has introduced a revised regulatory framework for NBFCs which is a Scale Based Regulation (SBR).
  • It will be effective from 1st October 2022.
  • Now for regulation of NBFCs under new SBR, RBI has categorized NBFCs into 4 scales based on their size, activity, and perceived riskiness: NBFC-Base Layer, NBFC-Middle Layer, NBFC-Upper Layer, and NBFC-Top Layer
  • Regulatory minimum NOF for NBFC-ICC, NBFC-MFI and NBFC-Factors will be increased to Rs. 10 crore

9. India ranks 79th in WJP Rule of Law Index 2021

  • It is prepared by the Washington DC based World Justice Project to measure how the rule of law is experienced and perceived across the world.

  • New rules have been introduced to ease the Right of Way (RoW) related permission and procedures for establishment and augmentation of Digital Communications Infrastructure
  • One-time compensation for the establishment of an overground telegraph line has been fixed at maximum of Rs 1000 per km.
