- C K Ranganathan has been appointed as the new President of All India Management Association (AIMA) during National Management Convention 2021.
- His tenure will be valid for 1 year till September 2022
- He is the Chairman & MD of CavinKare
- He succeeded Harsh Pati Singhania (JK Paper Vice Chairman & Managing Director).
- AIMA: National apex statutory body under Ministry of Corporate Affairs for the regulation and licensing of management profession in India.

2. United States wins 2021 Ryder Cup Golf Tournament
- United States has won 2021 Ryder Cup, defeating Team Europe, with 19-9 record victory.
- This is the largest margin of victory in the history of Ryder Cup.
- It was the 43rd edition of Ryder Cup Golf Tournament, which was held from September 24 to 26, 2021, at Whistling Straits, Haven, Wisconsin in US.
- Ryder Cup is a biennial men’s golf competition held between teams from Europe and United States.

3. International Translation Day
- International Translation Day (ITD) is observed every year on 30th September to celebrate the work of language translation professionals which facilitates dialogue, understanding and cooperation
- The day is organized by International Federation of Translators (FIT).
- It was recognized by UN in 2017.

- The day also marks the feast of St. Jerome, Bible translator who is considered as the patron saint of translators.

4. Union Minister launches Amrit Grand Challenge Program-जनCARE
- Union Minister Jitendra Singh has launched AmritGrand Challenge Program titled ‘जनCARE’ as a nationwide ‘Discover – Design – Scale’ program
- This Grand Challenge aims to identify 75 Start-Up and entrepreneurs, who come out with Innovative Ideas and Solutions for India’s healthcare challenges
- Launched by: Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), NASSCOM
- The Challenge will conclude on December 31, 2021
- Applicants can apply through BIRAC portal

5. Yemeni organization wins 2021 UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award
- Humanitarian organization from Yemen named as ‘Jeel Albena Association for Humanitarian Development’ has been declared as the winner of 2021 UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award
- UNHCR Nansen Refugee Award: It honours individuals, groups or organizations for going above and beyond the call of duty to protect refugees, other displaced and stateless people.
- The organization was founded in 2017 by Ameen Jubran and has been awarded to support and provide a lifeline of Yemen

6. Nirmala Sitharaman is the Chief Guest at Global FinTech Fest 2021
- Nirmala Sitharaman is the Chief Guest at the Global FinTech Fest (GFF) 2021
- Fest is being hosted virtually from 28th to 30th September 2021
- Theme of the fest: FinTech: Empowering a Global Digital Economy.
- It has been organized by Payments Council of India (PCI), Fintech Convergence Council (FCC) and Internet and Mobile Association of India (AIMAI).

7. Indian and Australian Navy signs ToR for bilateral cooperation
- Indian Navy has signed Terms of Reference (ToR) with Australian Navy for the conduct of navy to navy talks under ‘Joint Guidance for the India-Australia Navy to Navy Relationship’ document framework
- This is the first such document signed by Indian Navy with any country.
- Document set navy to navy talks as the principal medium for guiding the bilateral cooperation
- It provided flexibility for the implementation of separate agreements on the specific outcomes of the talks.

8. Govt increases income limit of disabled dependents for family pension
- Ministry of Defence has increased limit of eligibility of Children/Siblings suffering from mental or physical disability for family pension.
- Child/sibling will be eligible for family pension for life, if his/her overall income from sources other than family pension is less than 30% of the last pay drawn by deceased govt servant/pensioner concerned plus the dearness relief admissible thereon.
- Earlier eligibility limit was Rs 9000.

9. NPCI partners YES Bank to launch RuPay ‘On-the-Go’ payment solution
- NPCI has partnered with YES Bank to launch first-of-its-kind ‘RuPay On-the-Go’ contactless payments solutions.
- It is a wearable payment solution, that will enable customers to make small and large value transactions from accessories that they wear everyday.
- The solution is based on simple ‘Tap, pay, go’ mechanism.
- It has been launched in association with Neokred and manufacturing partner Seshaasai.
- It will eliminate the need to carry a physical card

10. Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment launches Elder Line
- Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has launched first Pan-India helpline for senior citizens ‘Elder Line’.
- Toll-free number for Elder Line is 14567.
- It will allow senior citizens to connect and share their concerns, get information and guidance on problems that they face on a day-to-day basis.
- It will provide free information and guidance on pension issues, legal issues, extend emotional support, etc
- Technical partners: Tata Trusts and NSE Foundation

11. Power Ministry gave its assent to REC amendments
- Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy has given assent to amendments in the existing Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) mechanism.
- The amendments will align the mechanism with the emerging changes in the power scenario.
- New changes:
- Validity of REC will be perpetual
- Floor and forbearance prices are not required to be specified.
- CERC to have monitoring and surveillance mechanism to ensure that there is no hoarding of RECs

- Union Minister for MSMEs, Narayan Rane has virtually inaugurated India Export Initiative and IndiaXports 2021 Portal of India SME Forum in New Delhi
- IndiaXports aims to orient MSMEs free of cost, with focus on the untapped export potential in existing tariff lines and supporting MSMEs in order to grow the number of exporting MSMEs and increase MSME exports by 50% in 2022
- India Export initiative serves as a knowledge base for exports by Indian MSMEs
