1. Nitesh Kumar won gold at 4th Para-Badminton National Championship
- World No. 7, Nitesh Kumar doubled his gold tally at 4th Para-Badminton National Championship, which concluded in Bhubaneswar, Odisha
- Nitesh of Haryana along with his partner Tarun defeated World No. 1 Paralympic Games gold medallist Pramod Bhagat and Manoj Sarkar in straight sets by 21-19, 21-11 in the Men’s doubles finals to win the gold
- Nitesh also won gold medal in Men’s singles category
- World No 1 SL3 Para-Badminton player Parul Parmar from Gujarat also secured gold

3. Harbajan Singh announces retirement from all form of cricket
- Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh (41 years) has announced retirement from all forms of competitive cricket.
- He made his Test debut against Australia in Bangalore back in 1998 and took a total of 417 wickets in 103 Tests.
- He also took 269 wickets in 236 One Day International and 25 wickets in 28 T20 internationals during his two-decades-long career.
- He is the fourth-highest wicket-taker from India
- He played 163 IPL matches and took 150 wickets

4. Dinanath Dubhashi appointed as Additional Director of FIDC
- MD and CEO, L&T Finance Holdings, Dinanath Dubhashi has been appointed as an additional Director of Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC).
- This move has been taken as Sanjay Chamria has resigned as the Co-Chairman and Director, FIDC.
- Apart from him, Kamlesh Gandhi has been appointed as Co-Chairman of FIDC in addition to Umesh Revankar.
- FIDC is a representative body of asset and loan financing NBFCs, has announced fresh appointments to its board of directors.

6. JSW Group launches employee-friendly electric vehicle policy
- JSW Group launches JSW Group’s new EV Policy to increase adoption of EVs in India and enabling access to green mobility
- It will facilitate up to Rs 3 lakhs as incentive for its employees to purchase electric four- and two-wheelers, seeking to help India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Sustainable Development Scenarios (SDS) of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
- It will be effective from January 2022.

7. Bangladesh become India's fourth largest export destination in FY22
- Bangladesh has become India’s fourth largest export destination in FY22, jumping five places in two years.
- According to data, during the first seven months of FY22, exports to Bangladesh grew 81% over the same period in the preceding year to $7.7 billion.
- This makes it India’s fourth largest export market behind the US, UAE and China.
- Major items exported to Bangladesh: cotton, cereals, electricity and fuel, vehicle parts and machinery and mechanical appliances.

8. NASA launches world’s most powerful space telescope
- World’s largest and most powerful space telescope, James Webb Space Telescope has been launched successfully into orbit to make breakthrough discoveries on the origins of the Universe and Earth-like planets beyond our solar system.
- It has been launched in an Ariane rocket from European Space Agency's base in French Guiana.
- It will reach its destination in solar orbit some 1.5 million km from Earth - about four times farther away than the moon.

10. Ministry of Power launches Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS)
- Ministry of Power has launched Reforms-based and Results-linked, Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).
- Aim: to improve the operational efficiencies and financial sustainability of State owned DISCOMs/ Power Departments by providing financial assistance to DISCOMs for modernization
- Outlay: Rs.3,03,758 crore
- Key interventions: providing support to DISCOMs to undertake activities for ensuring 100% System metering, implementing Prepaid Smart Metering, etc

13. India to chair counter terrorism committee of UNSC in Jan 2022
- India will chair Counter-Terrorism Committee of UNSC in January 2022 after 10 years.
- It was established by Security Council resolution 1373 adopted unanimously on 28 September 2001 in the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks in the US.
- Committee was tasked to implement a number of measures aimed at enhancing their legal and institutional ability to counter terrorist activities at home and around the world
- This includes taking steps to criminalize the financing of terrorism

14. INS Sudarshini deployed to the Gulf Region
- Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini deployed to the Gulf as part of Indian Navy’s endeavour to enhance maritime cooperation with the friendly navies in Gulf region.
- During the deployment, ship made port calls at Muscat, Dubai and Bandar Abbas and had professional interactions with Royal Oman Navy (RNO), UAE Navy and Iran (IRI) Navy
- It undertook various training exchanges, wherein sail training was imparted to trainees from RNO and IRI Navy and sea sorties conducted.
