1. Lewis Hamilton receives knighthood at Windsor Castle
- British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton has been honoured with knighthood.
- The Mercedes driver was made a Knight Bachelor by Prince of Wales Charles at Windsor Castle in Windsor.
- Hamilton holds an incredible seven Formula One World Titles.
- Hamilton missed out on his record eighth title at the Yas Marina circuit during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
- Hamilton gets the honorary title of “Sir” after being knighted by the Prince of Wales for services to motorsports.

2. TiE confers Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award on Birla
- Silicon Valley-based The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) has conferred the Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award-Business Transformation on Kumar Mangalam Birla.
- He is the first Indian industrialist to receive this award for his leadership of a globally diversified conglomerate during the pandemic
- Birla joins an exclusive list of global entrepreneurs to receive the award this year that include Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Satya Nadella

3. Bhutan confers highest civilian award upon PM Modi
- PM Modi will be awarded Ngadag Pel gi Khorlo or the Order of The Druk Gyalpo, the highest civilian decoration conferred by the Kingdom of Bhutan.
- The award comes with a Breast Star and Sash Badge.
- It honours those who have dedicated their lives to serving Bhutan's nation and people.
- Previous receipients: Queen Grandmother Ashi Kesang Choden, Je Thrizur Tenzin Dendup, and Je Khenpo Trulku Ngawang Jigme Choedra
- Modi is the first foreigner to receive the coveted award.

4. PFC to finance 350 electric buses in Uttar Pradesh
- Power Finance Company signed an agreement to lend Rs 275 crore for deployment of 350 electric buses across nine cities of Uttar Pradesh.
- The agreement was signed with GreenCell Mobility and UK to boost adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
- The buses will be deployed in key cities of UP including Agra, Meerut, Aligarh, Bareilly, Ghaziabad & Mathura.
- GoI launched FAME-II scheme with an allocation of Rs.3500 cr for promotion of adoption of electric buses.

5. Jharkhand Govt launches sports scheme for Maoist-hit areas
- In a move to curb Left Wing Extremism, the Jharkhand govt launched a scheme aimed at nurturing young sporting talents in Maoist-hit districts.
- Currently, it is launched in Saraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, Khunti, Gumla and Simdega districts of Jharkhand, and will extend to other districts too.
- This scheme has been launched to curb the LWE which affected 19 of the state’s 24 districts.
- LWE are those groups that try to bring change through violent revolution.

6. NABFOUNDATION partner with Innoterra to develop farmer clusters
- Innoterra, a Swiss-Indian food and tech platform company, has signed an MoU with NABFOUNDATION, a wholly owned subsidiary of NABARD.
- The MoU aims to develop farmer clusters through products and services of Innoterra platform.
- This association will enable both organisations to engage with India’s largest farmer collectives’ network of over 5000 Farmer Producer Organizations
- The partnership targets to serve 100,000 smallholder farmers in select clusters over the next 2yrs

7. Mohit Jain elected Indian Newspaper Society President
- Mohit Jain of The Economic Times has been elected as the president of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS).
- He was elected during 82nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of INS held through video conferencing.
- He succeeds Lakshmipathy Adimoolam of Health & The Antiseptic.
- K Raja Prasad Reddy (Sakshi) is the Deputy President, Rakesh Sharma (Aaj Samaj) is the Vice President and Tanmay Maheshwari (Amar Ujala) is the Honorary Treasurer of the Society for 2021-22.

8. Tamil Nadu govt declares ‘Tamil Thaai Vazhthu’ as state song
- The Tamil Nadu government announced ‘Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu as the state anthem.
- It is an invocation sung in praise of Mother Tamil.
- The decision comes in the wake of the Madras High Court recently ruling that ‘Tamil Thai Vaazhthu’ is a prayer song and not an anthem.
- The ‘Tamil Thai Vaazhthu' enjoys official status since 1970 and the then CM late M Karunanidhi govt had issued a Government Order as well in this regard.

9. HAL bags DRDO supply order for ABHYAS target platform
- HAL has secured an order for manufacturing, assembly, integration, testing and supply of High Speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) System named ABHYAS, from the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE).
- ADE is a lab under DRDO.
- ABHYAS was first successfully flight-tested in May 2019.
- ABHYAS, designed and developed by ADE is an air vehicle launched using twin under-slung boosters which provide the initial acceleration to the vehicle.

10. ISRO developing SSLV with pvt participation
- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is developing a Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) with private participation/
- It will be launched in the first quarter of 2022.
- The SSLV will provide a payload capability of 500 kg to a 500 km planar orbit.
- The government has sanctioned a total cost of Rs169 Crores for the development project.
- SSLV is being developed with the aim of launching small satellites commercially at a reduced price.
