1. PM Modi inaugurates 'Statue Of Equality
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation the ‘Statue of Equality’ in Hyderabad.
- The 216-feet tall Statue of Equality commemorates the 11th-century Bhakti Saint Sri Ramanujacharya, who promoted the idea of equality in all aspects of living including faith, caste and creed.
- The Statue is made of 'panchaloha', a combination of five metals: gold, silver, copper, brass, and zync.
- It is among one of the tallest metallic statues in sitting position, in the world.

2. IndiGo appoints Co-founder Rahul Bhatia as Managing Director
- InterGlobe Aviation has appointed Rahul Bhatia as the company's Managing Director with immediate effect.
- Bhatia is the Co-founder and Promoter of InterGlobe Aviation.
- The company is the parent of the country's largest airline IndiGo.
- Bhatia would oversee all aspects of the airline, and actively lead the management team.
- InterGlobe Aviation Ltd is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana, India.

3. UP's tableau adjudged the best at Republic Day parade this year
- Uttar Pradesh has been selected as the best state tableau among 12 States/UTs, participated in the Republic Day parade 2022.
- The tableau of UP was based on the theme ‘One District One Product and Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
- 2nd: Karnataka(Tableau based on Cradle of Traditional Handicrafts)
- 3rd -Meghalaya (Meghalaya’s 50 years of Statehood and its tribute to women SHG)
- CISF has been named the best marching contingent among Central Armed Police Force and other auxiliary forces

4. JNU VC M Jagadesh Kumar appointed as UGC head
- JNU vice-chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar (60-years) has been appointed as the chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for five years from the date of assuming charge or until he turns 65 or till further orders.
- He was a professor at the Depart. of Electrical Engineering at IIT-Delhi before being appointed as the JNU vice-chancellor in January 2016.
- On 7 Dec 2021, Prof D P Singh ( last UGC Chairman) resigned upon attaining 65 years of age.

5. Sonali Singh given charge of Controller General of Accounts
- The Government of India has appointed Sonali Singh (1987 batch officer of ICAS) to hold the additional charge of the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), under the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
- She shall look after the routine administrative duties in respect of the post of CGA till regular appointment to the post of CGA or till further orders.
- CGA is responsible to maintain account of the government.

6. Justin Langer quits as Australian men's cricket coach
- Justin Langer (51-year) has resigned as head coach of the Australia men's team.
- Langer, who took over in 2018 following the Australia ball-tampering scandal, won the T20 World Cup and the Ashes in the past three months.
- Justin Langer played 105 Tests and eight one-day internationals for Australia between 1993 and 2007.

7. ePassports will be rolled out in the country in the next six months
- According to EA Minister Dr S Jaishankar, ePassports will be rolled out in the country in the next six months.
- The chip-based passports will make the process of international travel by Indians a smooth affair.
- The ePassports will be a combination of paper and the embedded Radio Frequency Identification chips, with the antenna incorporated as an inlay in the back cover.
- Letter of Intent has been given for the supply of 4.5 crore chips and antennae in the first phase.

8. Foodgrain vessel leaves from Patna to Pandu via Bangladesh with 200 MT food
- The first consignment of 200 metric tonnes of foodgrain carried by the cargo vessel MV Lal Bahadur Shastri left the Inland Water Terminal at Gaighat, Patna for Pandu, Guwahati via Bangladesh
- The journey through multiple waterways including International routes through Bangladesh will take 25-30 days to cover a distance of over 2350 km.
- This is the first time foodgrain consignment is moving on the Indo Bangla Protocol (IBP)route covering the river Ganga and Brahmaputra

9. RBI cancels licence of Nashik based Independence Co-operative Bank Limited
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the licence of Nashik based Independence Co-operative Bank Limited.
- The bank will not be allowed to carry out any operations henceforth and a liquidator will be appointed soon.
- It said that the bank's present financial position is such that it will not be able to pay its depositors in full and public interest would be adversely affected if the bank is allowed to carry on with its business.

10. Producer-actor Ramesh Deo passes away
- Veteran Indian actor Ramesh Deo (93-years) has passed away in Mumbai.
- During his career, the multi-faceted film personality has acted in over 450 Hindi and Marathi feature films, apart from working in several television shows and commercials
- He is best known for his role in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1971 classic Anand, where he played Dr Prakash Kulkarni.
