CUET Full-Form stands for Common Universities Entrance Test. This examination will bring a major change in the way admissions to central universities. It will eliminate the tyranny of high cut-offs in universities like Delhi University, IPU CET, etc., and will bring parity in the admission procedure. It will unblock the gates for unprivileged students from less recognized boards that don’t provide lenient marks.

Common Universities Entrance Test (or CUET) is going to be the new nomenclature for the test as per the recent announcements by National Testing Agency (NTA) officials. What is the full form of CUET?

CUET Stands for the Common Universities Entrance Test that is introduced by the University Grants Commission for admission in the various central universities and colleges. National Testing Agency has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Undergraduate entrance tests for all the central universities for the academic session 2022-2023. CUET 2022 will provide a single-window opportunity for students to seek admission to any of the central and other universities across the country. The CUET (UG) 2022 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode. Following the CUET, each university will admit students based on a merit list prepared by NTA, and there will be no common counseling. 

What is CUET?

CUET stands for Central Universities Entrance Test. 54 colleges and universities will take part in CUET 2022 this year in order to give admission to their various programs. CUET 2022 will feature a number of renowned universities, including Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and, Aligarh Muslim University. In the first week of July 2022, the National Testing Agency will provably administer the Central Universities Entrance Test CUET 2022. In 154 test centers around the nation, the CUET will be administered. 2010 marked the first time that the Central University of Rajasthan held the CUET. From 2010 to 2020, the CUET exam was administered by the Central University of Rajasthan. The National Testing Agency takes over responsibility for conducting CUET in 2021.

CUET Full form 2022 - Exam Pattern

The Central Universities Entrance Test or CUET question paper is divided into Section A and Section B. Basic problems from the English language, General Awareness, Mathematical Aptitude, and Analytical Skills are included in Section A. Section B has domain knowledge exam questions.

  • There are 100 objective-type questions on the CUET 2022 exam paper.
  • The candidates will have two hours to complete the CUET 2022 exam.
  • The CUET 2022 question paper, which includes Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Assamese, Telugu, Urdu, Punjabi, and Tamil in addition to English, has 12 distinct languages.
  • For each correct response, applicants will receive one mark, while incorrect responses will result in a deduction of 0.25 marks.

Syllabus

Section IA & IB: Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual), Literary, and Narrative (Literary Aptitude & Vocabulary).

Section II: As per the NCERT model syllabus as applicable to Class XII only

Section III: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning 

Important Points after CUET Full-Form

After checking the detailed pattern and CUET full form candidates must go through the CUET Syllabus for the preparation. A Candidate can choose a maximum of any 3 languages from the following Sections:

  • Section I-A and Section I-B took together. (One of the languages chosen needs to be instead of Domain-specific subjects). 
  • Section II offers 27 Subjects, out of which a candidate may choose a maximum of 6 Subjects. 
  • Section III comprises General Test. For choosing Languages (upto3) from Section I-A and I-B and a maximum of 6 Subjects from Section II and General Test under Section III.
  • The candidate should check the specifications of the university they plan to attend. Typically, a student should choose the languages or subjects he or she chose for his most recently Class XII Board exams. However, the same flexibility may be used under CUET (UG) 2022 as well if any universities enable it.
  • Candidates must carefully refer to the eligibility requirements of various Central Universities in this regard. Moreover, if the subject to be studied in the Undergraduate course is not available in the list of 27 Domain-Specific Subjects being offered, the Candidate may choose the Subject closest to his choice. e.g. For Biochemistry, the candidate may choose Biology.
