CTET Passing Marks 2022: Category Wise Minimum Qualifying Marks

CTET Passing Marks 2022 - CTET stands for Central Teacher Eligibility Test. CTET is the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII.  A person needs to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any school that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government as per the Guidelines framed by the NCTE. In this article, we will be discussing the CTET 2022 passing marks and CTET qualifying scores for the different categories.

The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi.   

CTET Passing Marks 2022:

CTET is a qualifying exam, consists of two papers- Paper 1 & 2.

  1. Paper 1 is for Primary Teachers (Classes Ist to Vth)
  2. Paper 2 is for Secondary Teachers (Classes VIth to VIIIth).
  3. Both papers are of 150 marks and include 150 questions.
  4. Candidates need to score 60% marks to qualify for the CTET. E.g.: Candidates need to score 90 marks out of 150.
  5. The question paper shall be Bilingual (Hindi/English).

CTET is a bit difficult to qualify as the questions asked are based on conceptual knowledge and all the options seem to be the same that is the reason candidates need to adopt an open mind approach to solve questions.

CTET Qualifying marks Category-wise 2022:

  • CTET Passing Marks for General: The candidates will have to score 90 out of 150 to qualify for the exam.
  • CTET Passing Marks for SC/ST: The candidates will have to score 85 out of 150 to qualify for the exam.
  • CTET Passing Marks for OBC: The candidates will have to score 85 marks out of 150 to qualify for CTET.

CTET Certificate Validity:

  • The Validity Period of the CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be life (lifetime validity) from the date of declaration of the results.
  • There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET Certificate.
  • A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.
