CTET is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The exam is conducted twice a year at an interval of 6 months so that the candidates can obtain the CTET certificate and appear for the teacher recruitment exam.

CTET is a one-stage examination which will be conducted in offline mode for the primary level and the upper primary level. Candidates who have filled the application form have to pass the examination to obtain the eligibility certificate. CTET notification is declared and the exam date is 7th July 2024. 

CTET July 2024 Notification Out: CBSE has declared the CTET notification on 7th March 2024. Candidates who are eligible will be able to apply for paper-1 and paper-2 from 7th March to 2nd April 2024. Candidates who wish to pursue a career in the teaching profession must first pass this exam. CTET is a prerequisite for the majority of teacher recruitment exams. Candidates who fail the CTET exam will be unable to appear in future teacher recruitment exams.

CTET July 2024

CTET is conducted for two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 evaluates candidates' ability to teach at the primary level, while Paper 2 evaluates candidates' ability to teach at the upper primary level. Candidates do not need to pass the CTET exam in order to appear for the state level teaching exam; one State TET passing certificate is sufficient.

What is CTET Exam?

CTET is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to determine the eligibility of candidates for primary and upper primary teaching positions in central government schools such as NVS and KVS. A CTET certificate is required not only by government schools but also by many private schools. Hence, a certificate in teaching is required for candidates seeking employment in both public and private schools.

CTET exam is conducted twice a year for two papers. Candidates can appear in both the papers if they want to teach class 1 to 8. The exam is conducted in 20 languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Oriya, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Khasi. Malayalam, Bengali, Manipuri, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan and Garo.

CTET Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria to write the CTET exam. The eligibility criteria includes various exam criteria like age limit, educational qualification, nationality, number of attempts, etc. Any candidate who does not fulfill the prescribed requirement is not eligible to write CTET 2024.

Revised CTET Eligibility 2024

Recently, the eligibility criteria for CTET has been revised. As per the recent notice, candidates studying or admitted to any Teacher Training Course (TTC) will now be eligible for the exam. Check out the eligibility criteria for Paper 1 and Paper 2 below.

CTET Eligibility for Paper 1 and Paper 2

CTET Application Form 2024

The application form for CTET will available online month of nov for interested and eligible candidates. Registration, filling out the application form, fee payment, uploading photo and signature and final submission are all part of the application process. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before filling out the CTET Application Form.   • Enter your CTET login details, like your registration number and password, along with the security code.

The admit card for CTET will be issued in online mode for the qualified candidates. Admit card is an important document to appear in the exam. CTET 2023 Answer Key

The answer key will be released a few days after the conclusion of the CTET exam. The answer key contains the correct answers to the questions asked in the exam. The examination authority will first release the provisional answer key. Candidates will be able to challenge the provisional answer key in case of any objection. CTET Result

The result of CTET is declared in online mode along with the final answer key. Candidates will be able to download their result by logging into their account. CTET result will consist of various details such as name of the candidate, roll number, marks obtained etc. General category candidates with 60% or more marks will be declared qualified. On the other hand, the pass percentage for reserved category candidates is 55%.

CTET Certificate Validity

    • Paper I: Based on the topics prescribed in the syllabus of the NCERT for classes 1 to 5. The difficulty levelshal be up to the secondary stage.
    • Paper-II: Based on the topics prescribed in the syllabus of the NCERT for classes 6 to 8. The difficulty level shall be up to the senior secondary level.
  • There are two papers in CTET that are Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for classes 1-5, whereas paper 2 is for classes 6-8. Both papers have different syllabi and difficulty levels. To know different sections and weightage, candidates must know the exam pattern for each paper.

  • After passing the CTET exam, a candidate can apply for teaching vacancies available in various government and private institutions. Depending on their terms and conditions, the institution may administer both the written test and the personal interview to recruit eligible candidates.

  • The certificate of CTET is now valid for lifetime rather than 7 years. The certificate validity has been revised for all categories by the Ministry of Education.

  • To clear the CTET exam, a general category candidate must score 60% i.e. 90 marks out of 150 marks. On the other hand, the passing marks for reserved category candidates is 55% i.e. 82.5 marks out of 150 marks. 

  • The CTET selection process consists of a written exam for paper 1 and paper 2. Those who will clear the CTET online test for 150 marks will be recruited as teachers for classes 1-8. Once the exam is cleared, candidates can apply to schools according to the vacancies released.

  • CTET salary structure varies for teachers who teach different levels of classes. Teachers of TGT, PGT, and PRT levels will have different salaries. The basic salary for CTET-certified teachers ranges between Rs. 9,300 and Rs. 34,800. The in-hand salary can reach upto Rs 48,000 per month or more depending upon the level of experience.

CTET is a central teacher eligibility test conducted by the central government, and TET is a teacher eligibility test conducted by the state government.
