CDS Salary/Perks/Allowances 2021 for OTA, Navy, Army & Air Force

Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Indian Air Force Academy (IAFA) and Officers Training Academy (OTA) offer great perks and salary, apart from a well-reputed profile, to the entry-level officers selected through Combined Defence Services (CDS 2021) exam.

CDS Salary and Allowances 2021 Details

1. Pay scale of Officers in Army and equivalent ranks in Air Force and Navy

(b) Details of MSP (Military Service Pay)

  • Officers in the rank of Lieutenant to Brigadier are also entitled to a Military Service Pay(MSP) of Rs. 15.500 p.m. (fixed).

(c) The stipend for Cadet Training

  • Gentlemen and Lady cadets are entitled to a stipend of Rs. 56,100/- per month during their complete training duration in service academies i.e. during training period at OTA and IMA.

2. CDS Qualification Pay & Grant

The officers who possess certain prescribed qualification are entitled to a qualification grant, based on their qualifications. The below-mentioned qualification pay pertains to Indian Air Force.

(a) Flying Allowance

  • Pilots/ Army Aviators, serving in the Army Aviation Corps are entitled to a flying allowance as mentioned below:
    For Lieutenant and above (i.e. Level 10 and above): Rs 25,000/- p.m. (fixed)

3. Allowances offered under CDS

(a) Dearness Allowance:

It is the same as that applicable to the civilian personnel from time to time (same rate and under the same condition).

(b) Kit Maintenance Allowance:

It has now been included with the newly introduced Dress allowance of Rs. 20,000/- per year.

(c) Field Area Allowance:

As per the area of posting and rank of the officers, field area allowance are provided to the officials as mentioned below:

Siachen Allowance of Rs. 42,500/- per month is also offered.

(f) Uniform Allowance

It has been included in the newly proposed Dress Allowance of Rs. 20,000/- per year.

  • Following are the high TPTA cities:
    Kolkata, Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad, Coimbatore, Chennai, Jaipur, Pune, Nagpur, Greater Mumbai, Indore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Bengaluru, Surat, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Patna, Hyderabad.
  • In case the person has been provided with government transport, he will not be eligible for this allowance.
  • Officials of Pay level 14 & above, who are entitled to use the official car may either take the official car facility or avail the transport allowance of Rs. 15,750+DA per month.

(h) Children Education Allowance (CEA)

This allowance is admissible from Nursery to class 12th and maybe availed monthly at Rs. 2250/- per child for two children only.

(i) The Sikkim government provides a cash incentive of Rs. 1.5 lakhs to all the successful candidates of Sikkim for all the officer's entry scheme.
