The relative molecular mass of water (H2O) is 18. The total of each atom’s distinct atomic masses is referred to as the relative molecular mass or relative formula mass. Relative molecular mass of water (H2 O) is 18. The relative molecular mass is unit-less.

How to find relative molecular mass?

The relative atomic masses of the constituent elements in a formula unit are added to determine a substance’s relative formula mass. Mr. is the abbreviation for relative formula mass. This mass may alternatively be referred to as the relative molecular mass if the substance is composed of simple molecules. For each isotope of an element, the relative mass is derived by multiplying the number of protons by the number of neutrons.

Water’s relative molecular mass is: Water formula is H2O. Two atoms of hydrogen and one oxygen atom make up each molecule.

Relative atomic masses: (O = 16, H = 1).

As a result, water’s relative molecular mass is –

Mr (H2O) = 2 * Ar (H) + Ar (O) = 2 x 1 + 16 = 18

Summary:

Calculate the relative molecular mass of water (H2O). (A) 18 u (B) 1.8 u (C) 2.0 u (D) 20 u

The relative molecular mass of water (H2O) is 18. Water is one of the most important elements that is required. It forms when 2 atoms of hydrogen and 1 atom of Oxygen reacts with each other.
