RBI Grade B Officer Nationality 2022

A candidate must be either:-

(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India.

Age Limit for RBI Grade B Officer 2022

The eligibility for RBI Grade B Officer Age limit mentioned below is as per the notification PDF to be required as of 01st Jan 2022. 

A) The Minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and the maximum age is 30 years 

B) This Eligibility means that the candidate should not be born earlier than 02nd September 1989 and not later than 01 September 1998 in which both the dates are inclusive

C) For candidates possessing M.Phil. and PhD qualifications, the upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years.

RBI Grade B Officer 2022 Age Relaxation

There is also relaxation in the upper age limit for RBI Grade B Officer 2022 exam based on the following:

For candidates having experience as an officer in Commercial Bank/Financial Institution in
Public Sector as also prior experience in Reserve Bank of India, the upper age limit is relaxed
to the extent of the number of completed years of such experience subject to a maximum of
three years.

The upper age limit should not exceed 33 years including
experience.

Note-For experience, the probationary period will not be reckoned.

Educational Qualification for RBI Grade B Officer 2022

The eligibility for RBI Grade B Officer 2022 educational qualification is mentioned below as of 01st Jan 2022:

Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DEPR

Essential:
a. A Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics /Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR


b. PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/Institute; OR


c. Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute.


Note: SC, ST, and PwBD candidates having a second class with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years in Master's Degree examination or equivalent recognized qualifications are eligible to apply.


Desirable: A Doctorate Degree in Economics or research or teaching experience in Economics or publications in standard journals would be considered as an
additional qualification.
Candidates having M.Phil. Degree and Doctorate Degree from a recognized Indian/Foreign University/Institute in the specified subjects will be eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit by 2 years and 4 years respectively.
d. (i) Candidates having Master's Degree with Research/Teaching experience at a recognized Indian/Foreign University/ Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of a number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, the probationary period will not be reckoned.
(ii) The above age relaxations will not be cumulatively available with age relaxations available to various categories as mentioned in Para 3 II (b) above.

Officers in Grade 'B' (DR) - DSIM

Essential:
a. A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR

b. Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR

c. M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR

d. Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

Note:

For SC, ST and PwBD candidates, the minimum marks required in Master’s Degree as in items (a), (b), (c), and (d) above is 50% or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years.
Desirable:

(i) Candidates with a Doctorate in topics related to the above subjects will be given preference. (ii) Research or teaching experience and publication in standard journals will be considered as an additional qualification.
Note:

(i) Candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification in the specified subjects will be eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit by 2 years and 4 years respectively.

(ii) Candidates with research/teaching experience at a recognized Indian / Foreign University/Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit to the extent of the number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, the probationary period will not be reckoned.

(iii) The above age relaxations will not be cumulatively available with age relaxations available to various categories as mentioned in Para 3 II (b) above

RBI Grade B Officer 2022 Minimum Number of Attempts 

Candidates belonging to the unreserved i.e. General Category, who have already appeared six times for Phase-I Examination for this post in the past, are not eligible to apply. No such restriction applies to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD if the posts are reserved for them.

RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria FAQs

  • RBI Grade B eligibility criteria include the norms defined by the officials of the Reserve Bank of India that a participant should fulfill before applying for the recruitment. The eligibility criteria for RBI Grade B are divided into three different stages which are age limit criteria, educational qualification, and nationality. Only the candidate fulfilling the entire eligibility norms will be allowed to participate in the RBI Grade B 2022 exam.

  • As per the RBI Grade B Officer Eligibility Criteria 2022, the minimum age limit is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. According to the RBI Grade B eligibility criteria 2022 the candidates ought to be between 21 to 30 years of age. But, some categories are offered relaxation, SCs are entitled to a relaxation of 5 years. 

  • Yes, final year students have eligibility for the RBI Grade B Officer Exam 2022. The only condition is that the candidate must provide the official documents and certificates in the interview round. Failing to produce the documents will lead to the cancellation of the candidature. Thus, last year students must attentively apply for the RBI Grade B exam.

  • Yes, there is an age relaxation to certain categories as per the guideline of the government of India. A relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC, and 5 years for Ex-servicemen under age limit criteria of RBI Grade B exam is determined by RBI as disclosed with the official notification PDF. Thus, the candidates falling in reserved categories still holds the chance of grabbing the desired position in the Reserve Bank of India.

  • The total number of attempts allowed for the RBI Grade B exam varies on the basis of the categories the candidates belong to. Below are the associated details.

    • General category candidates can attempt the RBI Grade B Exam up to 6 times for Phase. If a candidate fails in all 6 attempts, they would not be eligible to apply any further. 
    • For the candidates who belong to SC, ST, OBC, and PWD, there is no such restriction.
  • The educational qualifications required for the General post is as highlighted herewith. The applicants must be in possession of a Graduation degree in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or a Post-Graduation / Equivalent technical qualification with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years.
