AWES Full Form is Army Welfare Education Society. AWES conducts recruitment exams for all teaching posts i.e., Post Graduate Posts (PGT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and PRT(Primary Teacher). AWES recently released the notification for the recruitment of teachers in the Army Public School on pan India basis. The full Form of AWES is the Army Welfare Education Society. AWES is responsible for conducting recruitment exams in the Army Public schools across the nation. The Army Welfare Education Society manage and control the education facilities in the Army Public School.

The total number of Army Public Schools functioning in India is 137. All schools follow the NCERT curriculum and are affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi.

What is AWES?

Realizing the importance of children’s education as a major welfare activity, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) took a considered decision to establish a chain of schools in various regional commands. The creation of the Army Public School was announced on Army Day i.e.,15 Jan 1980. Army Public Schools are basically formed for the children of Soldiers – Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs).

Army Welfare Education organisation (AWEO) was created under Adjutant General’s Branch. On 29th April 1983, AWEO was registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 as Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) being a statutory requirement for affiliation to CBSE.

AWES Important Dates

Here are the important dates related to the army public school teacher recruitment process. The Army Welfare Education Society released the Army Public School Recruitment Exam 2023 notification on the official website on 25th August 2023. Candidates awaiting the AWES notification for this year can now fill out the application forms for the same. The last date to fill out the Army Public School exam application form is October 5, 2023. AWES School Teacher Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria set by AWES for the recruitment of teachers in the Army Public School for the posts i.e., Post-Graduation Teacher (PGT), Trained Graduation Teacher (TGT), and Primary Teacher (PRT). It is important to note that- A Post-Graduate with less than 50% aggregate marks in Graduation can also apply for the post of a TGT provided the candidate has scored a minimum of 50% or more aggregate marks in Post Graduation. A Post-Graduate with less than 50% aggregate marks in Graduation can also apply for the post of a PRT provided the candidate has scored a minimum of 50% or more aggregate marks in Post Graduation.

 AWES APS Exam Pattern

Candidates need to understand the exam pattern of Army Public School released by AWES, to have an idea of the topics covered in the exam. The APS exam pattern consists of Computer Based Test and an Interview.  AWES Syllabus

The Army Public School (PRT, TGT & PGT) exam consists of one paper of 200 marks divided into three sections. The new pattern of exams introduced in 2023 has added a few topics to each subject, which were not included in the APS (PRT, TGT & PGT) syllabus earlier.
