Veteran BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj (67-years) passed away in New Delhi last night after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. Sushma Swaraj had a kidney transplant in 2016. She had opted out of contesting Lok Sabha polls earlier this year for health reasons.

 

Died: 6th August 2019 (aged 67-years) at AIIMS, New Delhi, India.

  • Swaraj will be cremated with full state honours at Lodhi Crematorium, Delhi on 7th August 2019.

  • She had supplementary charge of Ministry of Telecommunications from 19th March to 2nd October 1998.

  • Sushma was the Minister of External Affairs from 26th May 2014 to 30th May 2019.
  • She was also the 1st woman Chief Minister of Delhi (5th) from 13th October to 3rd December 1998.
