1. Radius of curvature = 2 x focal length = 2f

2. Snell's formula n = sin i/ sin r

Where i is the angle of incidence

r is the angle of refraction

3. Absolute refractive index n = speed of light in vacuum/ speed of light in medium

4. Lens formula 1/v - 1/u = 1/f

5. Mirror formula 1/v + 1/u = 1/f

Where f is the focal length

u is the image distance

f is the object distance

6. Combine the power of two or more lenses

7. Relative refractive index n21 = speed of light in medium 1/ speed of light in medium 2

8. Power of a lens P = 1/focal length

9. Magnification (mirror) = height of image/ height of object 

= hi/ho

= -v/u
