UPPCL JE Selection Process
The UPPSC JE Selection Process is notified by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) in its official notification. In this post, we have covered the UPPCL Junior Engineer and Assistant Engineer selection process. The selection process for the UPPCL JE and AE varies slightly. Thus, candidates who will be appearing for the UPPCL JE recruitment 2021 should be well versed with the selection process for each stage.
The selection process for UPPCL JE comprises a written exam followed by document verification. On the other hand, the selection process for the UPPCL AE consists of a written exam followed by an interview. In this post, you will get to know the detailed selection criteria for the UPPCL JE and UPPCL AE stage wise.
UPPCL JE 2021 Selection Process: Selection Process for UPPCL JE & AE
As per the official notification issued by UPPCL, the selection process for the post of UPPCL JE will be done in two steps.
- The 1st stage would be a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- The candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the test after which they will be invited for document verification by UPPCL personnel to be considered for the job positions.
- There would be no interview round for the posts of Junior Engineer and the applicants would be selected solely on the basis of their marks in the CBT exam.
Selection Process for UPPCL AE
The UPPCL AE selection process would include the following 3 major stages.
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
Stage 2: Personal Interview
Stage 3: Document Verification

UPPCL JE Selection Process for Written Exam
The UPPCL JE written exam is the 1st stage of the selection process. Here we have discussed the UPPCL JE selection process for the written exam. You must note that there is a variation in the written exam pattern for both UPPCL JE and UPPCL AE exams as discussed below in the table.
UPPCL JE Electrical Exam Pattern for CBT
- The UPPCL JE exam will be for a total of 200 marks for a duration of 2 Hours.
- All the questions in the CBT of UPPCL JE will be objective multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- 1 mark will be awarded to every correct answer while 0.25 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer by in the UPPCL JE CBT.

UPPCL JE Document Verification (DV)
Candidates who will obtain the required UPPCL JE cut off marks will be called to appear for the document verification process. All the original documents will be verified by the senior officials. You will be required to carry your original documents as well as a photocopy of the same during the UPPCL JE DV round.
Documents Required for UPPCL AE and JE for DV
Here is a list of all the documents that you will be required to bring along with you during the UPPCL JE and UPPCL DV.
- Mark sheet/ certificate of class 10 and 12 examination
- Degree/ Diploma certificate
- Passport size photographs
- Caste certificate issued by the competent authority
- Medical certificate for physically challenged candidates
- Discharge certificate in applied under ex-servicemen
- Aadhaar card/ passport/ PAN card/ voter ID card/ driving license/ any other photo ID card with affixed photograph

UPPCL AE Interview 2021
Candidates who will obtain the cut off marks in the UPPCL AE Exam 2021 will be invited to appear for the next round of the selection process, i.e Personal Interview.
- It is important to note that the final selection of the candidates for UPPCL AE will be done through the marks scored in CBT and the interview.
- Upon successful completion of the UPPCL Assistant Engineer interview, the candidates will be called to appear for document verification. The list of documents that must be brought by the candidates is given mentioned above.
