UPPCL AE Selection Process 2022
The UPPCL AE Selection Process 2022 is defined by the exam organising body which is the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd. (UPPCL) in its official notification. The UPPCL has released a recruitment notification for 113 posts of Electrical, Electronics, CS/IT. Thus, to be able to be appointed to the post of Assistant Engineer, you would need to know the selection process that is required for the exam.
There are two stages of the selection process for the UPPCL AE 2022 exam as mentioned below:
- Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Stage 2: Personal Interview

UPPCL AE Selection Process for CBT
The CBT is the first stage of the selection process for the UPPCL Asst. Eng. exam. All the candidates who will apply for the Assistant Engineer post in UPPCL will be called to appear for the written exam that will be held in online mode.
- The UPPCL AE CBT shall have the only objective type of questions.
- There are four subjects for the exam, engineering paper, GK, Reasoning and Hindi papers.
- The questions asked in the engineering paper shall be of GATE level.

UPPCL Assistant Engineer Qualifying Marks
It is mandatory to obtain at least 30% in the UPPCL AE online test to be called to appear for the next stage of the selection process. The candidates who will obtain less than 30% will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
UPPCL Assistant Engineer Interview
Candidates who will obtain the cut off marks in the written exam will be called to appear for the interview. The UPPCL AE interview is compulsory to be attended by all the candidates who will qualify for the CBT, otherwise, the candidates will be disqualified from the further selection process.
The maximum number of candidates to be selected for the interview shall be equal to two times the number of category wise candidates. The personal interview will be used to test your personality, your response to each question that is asked in the interview.
UPPCL AE Document Verification & Medical Test
The candidates who will qualify for the UPPCL AE CBT & interview will be called to appear for the Document Verification (DV) and Medical Test. The candidates will be asked to produce the original documents and certificates. Further, the candidates must be in good mental and bodily health. They must be free from any disease that will hamper their performance during the service.
Documents Required for UPPCL AE Document Verification (DV)
Here is a list of documents that you must produce during the UPPCL AE DV. It is mandatory to carry the original documents and a photocopy of the same at the time of DV.
- OBC NCL issued after 31 March 2021 ( for UP domicile only)
- Domicile certificate issued after 31 March 2018
- Date of birth certificate
- Educational certificates of Class 10th, Class 12th
- Graduation certificate/final marksheet
- Apprentice certificate
- PH, DFF certificate issued by the DM

UPPCL AE Final Selection Process: Merit List
After the successful completion of the online test and interview for the UPPCL AE exam 2022, the final merit list of the candidates suitable for an appointment to the post of Assistant Engineer will be done. The final selection for the UPPCL AE is done through the marks obtained by the candidates in the UPPCL AE CBT and interview. Thus, both stages play a crucial role in determining your selection for the post. Further, the selected candidates will be called for document verification and medical examination.
After the completion of the CBT, interview, DV, medical test, a merit list of the finally selected candidates will be drawn.
