Let us begin with the UKPSC AE written exam pattern. As the written test is the first stage of the UKPSC AE Selection Process that decides your selection process for the next stage of the UKPSC AE exam, therefore, you must know the complete exam pattern for the UKPSC AE. 

The General Ability Paper for the UKPSC AE exam will be common to all the candidates who will be taking the UKPSC AE written exam. 

• All the questions in the UKPSC AE written exam will be objective-type questions
• Each question will be of 1 mark, thus each subject will be of 100 marks. 
• The exam duration for each paper of UKPSC Asst. Engineer is 2 hours. 
• Thus, the General ability paper is 300 marks in total.

The UKPSC AE subject-related papers will be for Civil, Agriculture, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering subjects based on your educational qualification. Each paper will have 2 papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. The table given below is the exam pattern for the UKPSC Assistant Engineer exam for the engineering subject papers. 

• All the questions will be objective questions in the UKPSC AE exam 2022.
• Each engineering paper, Civil, Agriculture, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering will have 2 papers. 
• There will be 180 questions in each paper of 2 marks each. 
• The total marks for each paper are 360 with a duration of 3 hours for each paper. 

The candidate is considered to have passed if his or her score is greater than or equal to the UKPSC AE cutoff marks. Most of the time, the candidate with the highest score is chosen for an interview. As a result, the student should try for the greatest possible mark.

The UKPSC AE interview will be of 100 marks. All the candidates who will qualify for the written exam by securing the cut-off marks will be called to appear for the UKPSC AE interview. The interview will test your ability to be suitable for the position of Assistant Engineer in UKPSC.

• Focus on your weak areas and strengths- The student should start by identifying his or her weak points and strengths in the topics included in the exam.
• Try Mock Tests- Candidates should also prepare by taking Mock Tests that are essential to the examination.
• Practice Previous Year’s Paper- Candidates should study the previous year's question papers to develop an understanding of the main concepts covered in the AE test.
