KPSC AE Exam Pattern 2022 must be known by all the candidates who will be appearing for the Karnataka PSC Assistant Engineer exam. With the help of the paper pattern, you will be able to prioritise the subjects that you would want to focus more on and find ways to get better at them.

KPSC AE Exam Pattern 2022

KPSC AE Exam Pattern 2022 is specified by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) along with its official notification. The candidates will need to have good knowledge about the paper pattern and marking scheme to plan a strategy to qualify the exam. 

To begin with, the KPSC AE 2022 exam shall have two papers where both of them will be compulsory. Further, there will be a Kannada language paper test as well. The KPSC AE Paper 1 will be the General Studies paper while PAper 2 is the subject-specific paper. The exam will be conducted in either online or offline mode as it will be informed to you on the KPSC official website. KPSC AE Exam Pattern for Written Exam

The KPSC AE exam pattern for the written exam is explained below. The exam will be held in either online or offline mode. 

  • The Karnataka PSC AE exam will have two compulsory papers.
  • One of the papers is the General Studies paper while the other is the Civil/Environmental Engineering paper.
  • The total marks of the written exam for the Karnataka PSC AE exam is 400 marks. 
  • A negative marking of 0.25 shall be done for every incorrect answer. 
  • All the questions will be objective questions (MCQs). 
  • The duration for Paper 1 is 1 Hour 30 Minutes while Paper 2 is for 2 Hours. 
  • The question paper will be set in both English and Kannada languages.

KPSC AE Language Paper Test (Kannada)

The compulsory Kannada language test will be done after the written exam. The exam date for the KPSC AE Kannada test shall be notified to you on the commission’s website. 

  • The Kannada Language Test for KPSC Assistant Engineer exam will be for 150 marks in total. 
  • The candidates will have to obtain at least 50 marks to be eligible for further selection.

KPSC AE Interview

After the completion of the KPSC AE written exam and Kannada Language Test, the candidates will be called to appear for the Interview. The interview will be for 50 marks. The aim of taking the interview is to test whether the candidate will be able to perform the necessary tasks or not. The mental ability of the candidates will be tested through it. 

KPSC AE Cut Off

Karnataka PSC has specified the cut off marks for the written exam. The candidates will have to obtain the following KPSC AE cut off marks as sp[ecifid in the table below.
