The DSSSB AE Selection Process is specified by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) in its official notification. The candidates planning to get shortlisted for an appointment for the post of DSSSB Assistant Engineer should fulfil the criteria that is required for the final selection of the candidates into the service. 

To begin with, the candidates must fulfil the DSSSB AE eligibility criteria to fill up the application form. Thereafter, the candidates who will apply online successfully by paying the application fee shall be required to appear for the examination process that comprises of two tiers. The following is the stage-wise selection process for the DSSSB AE recruitment 2022. 

• Completion of the DSSSB Assistant Engg. 2022 Application Form 
• DSSSB AE Tier 1 Exam: CBT 1
• DSSSB AE Tier 2 Exam: CBT 2

DSSSB AE Selection Process for Tier 1 : CBT 1

The DSSSB AE tier 1 is the first stage of the selection process after the candidates have received the admit cards. The tier 1 exam is an online test that comprises of objective type of questions, i.e. CBT 1 exam. 

• The candidates will be screened through this stage for the selection into the next stage. 
• The marks scored by you in the DSSSB AE CBT 1 shall not be taken into consideration for the final selection. 
• However, you must ensure to score the cut off marks in the Tier 1 exam of the DSSSB AE exam to move to the next stage. 
• There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every incorrect answer. 
• The DSSSB AE Tier exam will comprise of the following sections:
  1. General Awareness
  2. General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability
  3. Arithmetical & Numerical Ability
  4. Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension
  5. Test of English Language & Comprehension
  6. Subject Specified Paper, i.e. Civil/Electrical

DSSSB AE Selection Process for Tier 2: CBT 2

The candidates who will obtain the cut off marks in the DSSSB AE tier 1 exam will be allowed to appear for the CBT 2 or Tier 2 exam. 

• The DSSSB AE Tier 2 exam is crucial for every candidate who will be appearing for the examination. 
• The marks obtained by you in this stage shall be taken into consideration while preparing the merit list.

• Thus, you mus score higher marks in the CBT 2 to appear for the next stage of the selection process. 
• The DSSSB Assistant Engg. CBT 2 is of 300 marks where the subject-specific questions will be 200 marks. 
• You must have a good grasp of the DSSSB AE Civil/Electrical subject to score maximum marks in this stage.
• The DSSSB AE Tier 2 exam will comprise of the following subjects:

DSSSB AE Qualifying Marks for Tier & Tier 2

The DSSSB has specified the DSSSB AE cut-off marks that must be scored by the candidates in tier 1 and tier 2 separately. You must note that the given is the qualifying marks and the actual cut off will be higher as per the vacancies announced.

Tie Breaking Rule for DSSSB Assistant Engineer Exam

There is a chance that two candidates may score the same marks in Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams of the DSSSB AE exam. Therefore, to resolve the tie, the Board has come up with the following alternatives to determine the selection of the candidates. 

• The marks scored by the candidate in DSSSB AE subject-specific paper (Civil/Electrical) shall be taken into consideration to prepare the merit list. 
• If the marks in the subject-specific papers are also the same/equal, the candidate senior in age is to be placed higher in merit.
• If the date of birth (DOB) is the same, then the candidate whose first name comes first in alphabetical order shall be placed higher in the merit list. 

DSSSB AE Document Verification & Medical Examination

The candidates who will obtain the cut off marks in the DSSSB Assistant Engineer CBT 2 exam shall be called to appear for the DV and Medical Test. The candidates will be required to produce all the original documents and a photocopy of the same to verify the qualification, caste, etc of the candidates during the DV process. Further, the candidates will also be required to appear for the medical examination. The candidates must be of sound mind and medically fit. 

List of Documents for DSSSB AE Document Verification (DV)

The list of documents that will be required to be produced by the candidates while appearing for the DSSSB AE DV are mentioned below. 

• Marksheets and certificates of Class 10th, Class 12th

• Marksheet and certificate of B. E/B. Tech. 
• Work Experience certificate

• ID proof such as Aadhar Card, PAN card, Voter ID card etc.

• Age proof/ birth certificate( as mentioned in the form)

• Eligibility certificate (computer skills, or certified courses)

• Caste certificate (OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PWD)

• Ex-Servicemen certificate

• No objection certificate (present employer)

• Other relevant documents ( if any)

Final Selection for DSSSB AE Recruitment: Merit List

The final selection of the candidates for the DSSSB AE Recruitment 2022 for an appointment shall be done on the basis of the marks obtained in the DSSSB AE Tier 2 exam. Apart from the CBT 2 marks, candidates must have qualified for the DSSSB AE DV and medical exam that has been explained to you above.
