10 Lessons From Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to Develop Officers-Like Qualities

Do you ever struggle to keep the fire to become an officer in your heart? Perhaps it sometimes feels like all that is left burning are a few small embers — or maybe even the embers are starting to die out and become cold! How do you stoke that fire inside you so that it begins burning in your heart again? That's what I want to talk to you about today.

As a motivational speaker, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam gave young students the most addictive psychotropic substance: hope. It is hope, combined with hard work, fetch the results and make a path for your success.

We all have something in our heart that we want to achieve in our life. Some of us have a zeal in us to serve motherland by serving in the Indian defence services. There are many qualities required in a person to become part of 'Bhartiya Sena'.During the interview, candidates are tested for these officer like qualities. 

This is 10 point oath from the book 'Pathways to Greatness' by Dr Kalam which can help you to develop officers like qualities and keep that fire alive inside you.

  1. I will have a goal and work hard to achieve it. I realize that having a small aim is a crime.
  2. I will work with integrity and succeed with integrity.
  3. I will be a good member of my family, of society, of Nation and of the world.
  4. I will always try to save or improve someone's life without any discrimination because of their caste, creed, language, religion or race.
  5. Wherever I am and Whatever I do, I will always think, 'what can I give?
  6. I will always remember the importance of my time. My motto will be: ’Let, not my winged days be spent in vain.'
  7. I will always work for clean Planet and clean energy.
  8. As a youth of the Nation, I will work with courage to achieve success in all my tasks and enjoy the success of others.
  9. I am as young as my faith and old as my doubt. Hence I will light the lamp of faith in my heart.
  10. My national flag flies in my heart, and I will bring glory to my Nation.
